My Philosophy:
I believe in creating a fun, loving environment where children can grow and explore through hands on experiences.  One of my top priorities is for every child to a positive school experience, one where they can't wait to come back.  With regards to your child's projects I believe it is the process not the end result that is most important.  He may bring home a gooey ball of glue and paper but it was the process of using his fine motor skills to cut or ripe the paper, weave and glue it in place that was the goal not ending up with a basket that looks like a basket.

Focus:
In the 2 yr old class the focus is on pre-writing skills (not writing).  Lots of the things we will do are to improve your child's manual dexterity. We work with different manipulative's such as beading, cutting, clay, lacing etc.  We also emphasis letter and number recognition.
In the 3's we build upon the skills learned in the 2's.  For example we take the colors that they learned in the 2's and build patterns and sequences in the 3's, we take the letters they learned in the 2's and learn their sounds, we use the numbers they previously learned to do simple addition and subtraction.

Typical class schedule:
Mom's Morning Out is basically a play group with crafts.  We sing and dance, play musicical instruments, have puppet shows, play dress-up, play on the water slide, make the climbing dome into a fort etc.  There are lots of different activites avaliable but no set structure.
The Preschool classes have a lot more structure than Mom's Morning Out.  We move as a group from one activity to the next.  We'll start with group circle time: sign hello song, do the calendar and days of the week, weather, talk about the projects we'll be doing that day.  Then we will divide in half to work on the projects.  As the children finish they will go to free time after a set amount of time we will switch and each child will do the other project.  Then we will clean up, have snack, and go to recess where we may play games such as sack races, bubbles, obstacle course.  We will go back in the class for second circle where we will have story time, sharing, or music depending on the day. Sing the goodbye song and collect belongings. There is a focus letter for each week that our crafts and activities are based around.  We take a monthly field trip to such places as the library, pumpkin patch, farm etc.  We meet at the location and parents are required to attend.
